Lomtjønnfjellet up by Tuddal

Bilde
Gaustatoppen and the mighty Gausta massif, seen from way down in Dardalen. (Dardalen-seter) Well now, take a good look at them purdy pictures y’all see here, they’re from the old mountain pastures of Dardalen and another one sittin’ by Ostetjønn, up on the north side of Utmannsnipun near Tuddal. From both them spots, you get yourself a downright amazin’ view lookin’ north toward that mighty Gausta mountain range. Now them photos showin’ that sweet little lake with the cozy mountain cabins? They were snapped on the north side of Lomtjønnfjellet, which sits at 3,895 feet above sea level, with Lomtjønn itself down in the front at about 2,867 feet. You can hit the trail startin’ from the parking area over by Sveigtjønn, headin’ on past Dardalen and Ostetjønn, all the way out to Bergetjønn just south of Lomtjønn to reach this spot. But heck, if you’re up for a longer stretch, you can also walk in from the gate down by Stuverud and follow the trail along the Kvitåa river, just keep in mind...

Lindeberget Gampen Damvann in Lier, formerly Buskerud

Bilde
Gampen and Lindeberget are two mighty fine spots for a good ol’ trek, with Gampen standin’ as the tallest peak in these parts. Tucked up in the northwestern stretch of Vestmarka, Lindeberget boasts some downright stunning views, along with the surrounding lands. The area’s got plenty of old trails and forgotten wagon roads, marked on Asker Skiklubb’s Vestmarka map from 2017—though hardly anybody sets foot on ‘em, seein’ as they’re way off the beaten path. Now, up around Gampen, Damvann, and Sørelva—the valley or creek flowin’ out north of Damvann—you’ll find yourself smack dab in the middle of some fine wilderness. And up on Gampen, well, you got yourself a whole mess of blueberry shrubs just waitin’ to be picked. Funny thing, the names Lindeberget and Gampen might just remind you of a certain part of Oslo, if you think about it on a national scale—same as Lindebergveien sittin’ right below Øvrevoll Racetrack in Bærum. And speakin’ of racetracks, these trails here? Perfect for some fas...

Lindeberget, Gampen, and Damvann out in Lier, which used to be part of Buskerud.

Gampen and Lindeberget are two dang good hiking spots, with Gampen bein' the tallest peak around. Up in the northwest part of Vestmarka, Lindeberget offers some mighty fine views and so do the surroundin' areas. There's plenty of trails and old roads, marked on Asker Skiklubb's Vestmark map from 2017, but hardly anyone uses 'em 'cause they're so far outta the way. The area 'round Gampen, Damvann, and Sørelva—yeah, that valley or creek north of Damvann—is real wilderness country. Up on Gampen, there's lots of good blueberry bushes, too. Lindeberget and Gampen might remind ya of a neighborhood name in Oslo, not too far off, thinkin' of Lindebergveien right by Øvrevoll racetrack in Bærum. Speaking of racetracks, these trails are perfect for tearin' up on a mountain bike, and probably good for horseback ridin', too. So grab the handlebars of a real mountain bike or take the reins for a ride. And here's the list of all them trails I'm ...

Emma Hjorth, Ramsåsen loop through Tanum Jordbru.

Bilde
Up at Ramsåsen lookout point. It's like bein' at the top of Holmenkollen ski jump and Tryvann Tower—like you're in heaven! The hike heads to Emma Hjorth through Tokerud view to Tanum Church (famous for Alex Rosen's big embarrassment ). From there to Ringi Farm, known for its darn good exclusive apple cider and pick-your-own corn in beautiful countryside. Then on to Ringi Hill where the trail ain't marked and turns right from the blue-marked trail just past the cornfield at Ringi Farm, with some bee hives and an old rundown pasture. Up on Ringi Hill, there's a mighty fine view and a dang good nature reserve worth visitin'. Next, past Jordbru via an old stone hut used by Milorg during World War II, then up to Ramsåsen via Kantebakk, and possibly another Milorg cabin called Ramsåsstua. From there, head north to Skosliteren through Tjennhaugputten, and either Merradalen or Langås Cabin—also used by Milorg—and further on to Skosliteren and Peterskleiv. At Skoslit...
